Day 12 of the 2019 Ohio Squirrel Season

Post by HunterGKS »

It was 68 sunny with a few high, fluffy clouds & calm at 07:32 when I was set-up.
At 07:36, a coon wandered in & went up a tree into the leafy top. At 07:40, there
was a lot of squalling, caterwauling, & limb shaking. I think the wifey was giving
him what for for being out carousing all night. By 07:46, he was headed back down
with his tail between his legs & wandered off. I think she was tired of his shenanigans
& threw him out of the den!!

At 07:53, a fox showed up in a brush pile without a shot. At 09:00, I headed back to
the pond. At 09:16, I saw a fox about 15” up in a tree about6’ from me. I got the
crosshairs on its head & squeezed. It jumped about a foot off the tree, hit the ground,
& took off running like somebody had just shot at it.

I sat back down at at09:45 & headed in at 10:45 with the temp at 78. I planned to hunt
“my” deer woods tomorrow.
