Day 32 of the 2018 Ohio Squirrel Season

Post by HunterGKS » October 2nd, 2018, 5:19 pm

I got back to the woods at 01:45 with the temp at 78, overcast skies, & windy.
At 03:00, I headed back to the pond & saw a solid black raccoon leaving the
far edge. I could barely make out the rings on its tail. I have never seen 1
that was all black. It was lucky the season isn’t in. The skeeters got bad so
I headed back & sat down at 03:30. At 03:35, I saw a fox moving along the
ground & up into the tops never to be seen again.

At 03:42, another bushy jumped up on the fallen tree where I park the
4-wheeler. It stopped a few times but never a clear shot until it made
the mistake of stopping with his head in the open. The .17 caused him
to fall off the tree.

I decided to head in at 04:30 as it had gotten cloudier & more windy.
