Days 26 & 27 of the 2017 Ohio Squirrel Season

Post by HunterGKS »

Young’s Woods 09/26/2017 P.M.

As I was walking back to my spot, a red ran across in front of me, a good omen, or so I thought.
I was ready to go at 12:09. The temp outside the woods was 88 but cooler with an occasional
breeze inside the woods with clear skies. At 02:00, I decided to move to my deer stand. The
beans were off & I was hoping the bushies would be looking for an easy meal inside the woods.
Didn’t happen. At 02:54, another red ran past. It was starting to get pretty hot inside the
woods so, at 04:00, I changed the card in my trail cam & headed home. The temp was up to 91.

Mike’s Woods 09/27/2017 A.M.

It was67 when I hit the woods at 07:46 with clear skies, & a very light breeze. At 08:20, I saw
some leaves shaking up a tree in front of me & soon spotted a fox. It jumped a limb almost too
small that just about sent it falling. It jumped to a sapling & started down. I followed it in the
scope &, when it stopped, I shot. It started to fall grabbed the tree, & ran to the bottom. I
expected it to run to my left but, when it hit the ground, it disappeared. I figured it had gone
around to the back side of the tree & took off but decided to check. A young female was laying
at the base of the tree. It blended in with the leaves so well, I couldn’t see it from where I was
sitting.

I headed to the pond at 08:55, got there at 09:04, & spotted a fox jumping from 1 tree to another.
When she stopped, I popped, & she dropped. I headed back to my 1 spot at 09:30 & sat there until
11:30 when I headed to the house with the temp up to 86.

The pot thickens
You're gaining in the #'s!!

Though you were going to cool down today finally????

It's finally suppose to drop 10 degrees here Friday, but still no rain in sight and all my new seeded grass and food plot is drying up, as usual :banghead:
ever wonder where the white goes when the snow melts??

Though you were going to cool down today finally???? Tomorrow is the big cool down. It's cloudy now but don't think it will rain much,

The bot flies were thick aswell as those little bees. Those are the only 2 flying critters that the T-cell doesn't seem to affect.
Ihave laid the T-cell right next to a squirrel & the flies are staying.
