I really like tracking coyotes down in the snow and putting the smack down on them..
didn't have much snow after Christmas last year but we still killed a couple.
The winter before we had a blast. good snow meant plenty of shots
heres a double tap from the year before last
who else coyotes hunt in the snow?

Ours hunt in the snow, they have to to survive. Unlike bears they don't sleep through the winter months.

Miss my coyote & fox, dog huntin' days in central & northeast Michigan with my buddies!!!! Had a Savage 223 over 12 that I'd get the selector switch bumped sometimes, before I shot
The 12 about took my pick-um up truck hood off, when I shot over it, at a fox sittin' in the field and waitin' fer' the dogs to catch up

ever wonder where the white goes when the snow melts??

Snow plus a full moon and laying in a field calling has gave me some of the most exciting hunts for me and a buddy. 7 dogs running to the barrels and only 2 left not bad for 2 guys with 6 shells not a bad stand. That night was spectacular we ended just before the sun came up and had 27 in the back of the truck. Not bad for not being able to use spotlight.

Re: who else coyotes hunt in the snow?
I missed this one early morning when the safety got bumped on and gun went click, and the yote ran
I switched the selector to the 223, from shotgun .. well the gun went off and he ran faster
The dogs caught up to it a mile or so later and I lucked out and got into the thick stuff where it was "short circling" the dogs, before he was gonna' make a dash again. I made sure the shotgun selector was on shotgun for sure this time!!
