On the way home from lunch today, I stopped at my Sister’s in-laws & picked a couple dozen ears of sweet corn. I shucked, cut off the kernels, packaged & put it in the freezer. I took a bucket full of husks & cobs back to the rock pile & dumped them at 2:45. I went back out, at 3:35, & 1 was sitting on the ground right in front of the “bait.” It stood up & I almost took its head off. She still managed to crawl about 2 feet into the weeds at the base of the rock pile. Odd thing is, there’s a corn field within 20 yards of my bait pile. I guess it’s just easier to hit the pile then to have to work for your supper.
This is number 10. I need 3 more to hit my average.

Re: Hunting Over Bait
Hey George,
At this point, they must have a bounty out on you. You keep shooting them but that doesn't seem to hurt the population any.
Doris and I watch "Mountain Men" on the History channel and some of those guys eat just about anything. I saw one where they were eating a "...nice young beaver." I'm sure they'd really like to eat those ground hogs. Ever eat one?
Thanks,
Clark

Re: Hunting Over Bait
Thx all. Haven't eaten 1 yet but I may have to try it if I can get a nice young one which probably won't be to next spring.
