Another 1 Bites the Dust

Post by HunterGKS »

I went out to the north end of the barn at 11 this morning to check the rock pile for groundhogs. There was a head sticking up over 1 or the rocks & that’s all I needed to see. Number 10 was added to the bone pile.

Have you ever cooked one up? They eat grass and may walk 10 yards from the hole! We sear them in a cast iron skillet with flour, they finish them in a brown gravy of our own. We do the same with rabbits.. Bake some homemade bread, open a cold one and sit on the porch and while your eating you tend to stare off across the field to see where your next meal is coming from.
I know you all are saying I'm not eating that nasty rodent. Good Stuff

I've heard others say they were pretty good eatin'. I may have to try 1 if I can get a nice young 1.

Great - keep after them furry little buggers - neighbor and i have 'collected' 4 so far - 2 each that were patrolling our gardens - at least one more spotted - with 2 skunks and a possum - you'd swear we lived in the country!!!
