1st of the Year

Post by HunterGKS »

I have been watching my rock pile for 2-3 weeks watching for the 1st groundhog. About 9:45 this morning, I was walking out to the barn & saw 1 in the field across the creek. I tried to ease over to my pine wind break & it took off running across the field. I lost sight of it & didn’t see where it went. After checking the rock pile, I headed back to the house but saw something in the field but couldn’t tell what it was. I went back into the barn to a side window to scope whatever it was. I though it looked like the front end of a g-hog sticking up out of a hole. It finally moved & came out of the hole. I aimed a little high as it was about 200 yards away. The .223 scored another one. This is the 1st of the year, a grizzled old female. Last year, I got #1 on 03/20.
