After not getting into the squirrel woods for over a week, I went to my usual hot spot & got set-up at about 12:30. Nothing at all going on in the woods &, about 1:40, I thought about moving. I scanned the woods from my left to right which only took a few seconds. When I turned back, there was a bushy right in front of me at 16 yards (I stepped it off.) A big, old female became #23 of the year. I did hear another 1 barking off & on & did see another 1 with no shot. When I picked up the squirrel, I noticed that she didn’t have a left eye. Of all the hundreds of squirrels I have killed, I have never seen 1 missing an eye. I wonder if this is the squirrel that everyone talks about. She was also probably the biggest female I have ever killed.
