Yesterday morning I had a great first stand just as it was getting light enough to see.
As I was walking out to set up my FoxPro I heard some coyotes about 800 to 1000 yards straight down wind from me. Then I heard a single coyote around 500 to 800 yards straight upwind from me.
Instead of starting out with a distress sound I started out with the FoxPro "Coyote Pair" sound. The coyote upwind from me started challenging my Coyote Pair sound after it had only played about 20 seconds.
So I challenged him back with "Coyote Male Challenge 4" sound for about 30 seconds. Then I switched to Pup Distress 3 sound.
About 2 minutes later I saw the coyote standing in front of my FoxPro so I shot him with my shotgun.

Later in the day I had a coyote on top of a ridge show up after calling for around 8 minutes. This coyote just stood their looking towards my FoxPro caller and decoy. I switched to Vole Squeaks on volume 20 and the coyote started heading my way.

Right after I took this last picture the coyote had seen enough and turned around to leave, so I switched from the camera to my shotgun and put him down.

This is the next picture of that coyote.
A few stands later I had a hard charger come in from my left about 10 yards away and I didn't see it until it was 10 yards away.

After I took the above two pictures I shot this coyote with my shotgun and called it a day.

Re: 3 coyotes with my shotgun.
I have had to shoot lead free shot at coyotes for quiet a while now.
I bought around 12 cases of the Remington HD Ultimate Home Defense 2-3/4" 1-1/4 oz BB loads when Bass Pro Shops was selling them for 80 cents to a dollar per shell.
I also bought 5 cases of the Federal Heavyweight 3" 1-1/4 oz of #2 shot loads when Rogers Sporting Goods was closing them out for $17.00 per box.
I removed all of the shot from both of those loads and reloaded them in 3" Fiocchi hulls with 1-1/2 oz of shot.
I also bought 60 pounds of the old Remington Hevi-Shot when Natchez was selling it for $100.00 for 10 pounds and all of that shot is loaded in 3" Fiocchi hulls with 1-1/2 oz loads.
I probably have about 100 TSS loads loaded in #2, #3 and #4 shot that I use on special occasions. LOL
I still have some factory Rem HD BB and T shot 3" 1-1/2 oz loads, some Federal Heavyweight 3" Coyote BB 1-1/2 oz loads and some Hevi-Shot 3" Dead Coyote T shot loads that I bought on sale or during rebates.
I mainly use the Rem HD BB 3" 1-1/2 oz loads with 70 BB pellets per shell or the Federal Heavyweight 3" reloads with 1-1/2 oz of #2 shot that have 90 pellets per shell because I like the higher pellet count in these two loads.
I think Federal would have made a much better coyote load if they would have used 1-1/2 oz of #2 Heavyweight shot instead of 1-1/2 oz of Heavyweight BB shot. The FHW 1-1/2 oz of #2 shot load has 28 more pellets in it than the FHW Coyote BB load has.
When I had to switch to lead free shot for hunting coyotes it blew me away how much better Rem HD BB shot worked on coyotes than lead BB shot did.
The harder heavier denser than lead shot breaks bones and penetrates much better than lead shot does on coyotes.

Thanks hawglips!
I thought about you yesterday while I was out hunting ducks with a buddy of mine. We were using TSS #8 shot 1 oz loads. I shot my last bird a drake mallard at about 45 yards straight up with one of the 1 oz TSS loads I had tested and the greenhead died instantly.

Nice job! Coincidentally I heard some yipping this morning in our neighborhood a few minutes ago. Not unusual and we have seen them at times. Often looked at the FoxPro. Will look more seriously now.
