Had another good day of coyote calling.
I got this coyote on my second stand this morning. It stopped about 80 yards from my Fury.
This coyote came charging in about 3 minutes after I switched sounds to Pup Distress 3.
I was calling on some bare ground with very little cover. The first time I saw this coyote it was about 1 foot from my caller. It didn't like the smell of my calling bag.
I finally got it to stop at about 200 yards after I switched to Coyote Pup Screams.
All three coyotes were young females.

Been seeing a couple running deer behind Granny's, but when I wait on em with a rifle, they never show,... dang it!!!

That looks like a good day calling. Congrats!
I say that I'm going to get out to the High Line and do that every year, but I never seem to get it done.

When you guys hunt turkeys take along a predator hand call.
When you are done calling turkeys at a stand instead of getting up and giving up, try to call in a coyote for 5 to 10 minutes before you leave. You are already set up and in position, give it a try.
Take some lead number 4 buckshot and switch loads when you try to call in the coyotes.

hobbes, you are sure welcome to try but there is a coyote caller behind every clump of sage brush, most of these coyotes here are real well educated to the calling sounds used. There is also a boxcar load of real good coyote trappers all along this hi-line area. Makes it tough to do much successful calling.

Great job on the calling and shooting you are having a great year knocking down the coyotes. Keep it up.

That's great. Way to go.
I have made 8 stands in 2 weeks and I haven't called in the first one yet but I'm persistent. It's next best thing to turkey hunting to me.
