Flashlight suggestions

Post by coconut »

Any suggestions on a good long lasting flashlight suitable for tracking a deer or spotting a armadillo that needs to be shot? Last flashlight I bought was a big maglight like police use. Seems there has been some advancements since then.

What about that one as seen on tv. It’s called tactical light. Wife said she might have gotten this for me for Christmas. Idk yet. I’ll let ya know if it’s a goodun. Little skeptical of it myself.$14.88 at Wally World.

I have one of these below. I had one a few years ago and I lost it. I just purchased another one. It has a bright beam and you can turn the clip around on it and clip it on your hat if you wear one. It has 3 settings on it, bright, strobe and low. Check Ebay or Amazon, they are not that expensive. I have used it to track deer and the other night I was investigating a house fire and used it and it performs great.

Good luck,

Kevin

Be honest, and I know you poked a jab at guy above. Not sure if it's same one, but the flashlight in the as seen on TV section at Walmart is a good light for the money.

I would say it will illuminate for shining to about 80. Than you can widen the beam for tracking. I have four.

Well my wife did get me that bell&howell tactical light. It’s pretty bright that’s for sure. I put rechargeable battery’s in it. It seems brighter with them than regular ones. So far I like it.

I just purchased the J5 Tactical V1 Pro from Amazon---just came yesterday.
It's a pretty small 300 lumens flashlight. Takes one AA battery.
It is rated real good on Amazon with 13000 reviews.
For only $12.00--it seems like a good deal.
I think you need at least 250 lumens for a turkey hunting flashlight--to walk in the dark.
Just my two cents !!

Merry Christmas to all. I sincerely enjoy the forum.

The real test will be once the sun goes down. I bet you could take the battery's out right now and it would still be pretty bright.

Search HS802 on amazon. I don't care for the switch, but they're bright, have good rechargeable batteries and are tough enough to ride a 12 gauge.

Well it’s dark outside now guesswho. I tryed the light out and it is bright. It’s worth $14.88 at Walmart. It’s pretty bright but that was on Duracell rechargeables. Actually I saw 2 eyes in fence row behind our house and told wife to go get my pellet rifle(we live in town right now) but when I shined again with rifle it wasn’t there. Think it was a possum. I’ll get another night. I like the light so far coconut. But you know what opinions are. There like azzholes everybody got them.
