Well, Wifie has really gotten into Duck hunting, and since we started hunting Raccoon Creek, AL, the ole hip waders just wasn't cutting it.ole5beards wrote:Awesome gifts, I'm jealous!! That scope is bad-ass!! I just have to ask, why 2 pairs of waders, just curious?
Got a new place here also that is a little deeper too. My heavyweight waders are going on 15 years now, and starting to glue leaks.
Besides, I've been promising to get her some womens waders for years now. The youth waders just didn't fit her body very well!
Yep, when these half moon cutout scopes first came out, I wasn't all that crazy about them, but since have changed my mind.
Bought the rifle from a guy named Layne in Huntsville, maybe you know him. I think Brent had it first, but neither of them ever did anything with it. Not gonna be the case here.

Raccoon Creek, is that a WMA or some kind of public land? Seems like I've heard of that place before. My old roommate at Auburn used to talk about it. He was from scotsboro, which is in Jackson County. I believe that was the place he used to talk about duck Hunting, and he wore them out. I'm in south central Alabama, and we are duck poor, better yet duck dirt poor!! But the northern half of the state including guntersville has some awesome duck hunting. Good luck.

Yep, Raccoon Creek WMA in Stevenson, near Scottsboro. Did very well there last year, but have not been this season. Have not even bought an AL license this fall.ole5beards wrote:Raccoon Creek, is that a WMA or some kind of public land? Seems like I've heard of that place before. You're right about the college guys. They swamp the area during Christmas break. Could not even find a place to hunt last year, cause they stayed in their Duck boats all nite drinking til dawn, just so they would get a good spot!
I went in over two hours early once, and they were already there. Asked one of them, he said they had been there all nite, geeez!
