NOW WE GOT NUTS.....

Squirrel season opened in Va on sept. 6 and been out hunting the N/F land in the mtns, BUT no Squirrels to eat them nuts..... i seen not one. we have (Gray, Red, and Fox) squirrels but not one eatn the nuts and dont see them in the tree tops. The bag Limit All squirrels combined is six per day.

I have killed a lot of squirrels and know how to hunt them, but we did have 3 years with no nuts in the woods, MUST OF BEEN HARD ON THEM TREE RATS. ;)

Well if you are in the woods hunting squirrels then there is at least one nut in the woods... :lol:

Yeah, they are virtually gone in areas where they typically run in herds around here. Gonna take a year or two for them to bounce back I reckon.

Did they die off from lack of food or did they have some disease run through the population? Strange.

They don't reproduce much if the mast supply is down.
