Went out with the blackpowder this morning. It was misty rain, windy and just crappy. Saw a one horn buck at daylight, hour later saw a doe. I was watching an opening and saw horns. I only got a split second look. Got my gun up waiting to see if he would pass into the next opening and I could get a peek. He did, but not for long. Got half a look and said....looked like an 8 pt. Well, I figured that was it. About a minute later there he was at the edge of the thicket and I was able to get a decent look at him head on. I said well he's a respectable buck and if he lived another 2 years, he'd be great. Well, the problem is the gang that's coming to this land in a week have a motto, "if it's brown it's down". So I took aim and BOOM! He ran about 70 yards and that was it.

Yup I shot one just a little bigger with the crossbow a few weeks ago gotta take em when you can. Since then I have seen 3 bigger ones but won't come anywhere in range and thats with the mz. Congrats.
