Osceola #2

Post by Turkey Talker »

Limited out yesterday on private land
Hunted 6 days this season

This bird was strutting out in a field with 6 hens. They were about 450 yards away from me when they came out of a cypress cut to feed and play in the pasture.
I called with a crystal call to get the loud call across the field. The gobbler lifted his head, went into full strut and slowly pulled all those birds in my direction. I thought for sure it wouldnt go down that way. Its usually the hens that pull the tom.
Anyways, I finished him up with the diaphragm. He came all the way in to the dsd hen decoy and hopped up on top of her. After the decoy fell over the hens started attacking it. I pulled the trigger on this guy and the birds just kept feeding around me not knowing what was going on....Ohh I love private land birds!

bird is
21 lbs
10 inch beard
1 9/16 spurs

Very well done Dave

There are no numbers on any of my clocks below 8. Then all of a sudden, 2 days before turkey season they appear. Then right after the season they disappear.
What's up with that
