creating memories 2013
took my ex's youngest out today...she is just getting interested in hunting but hasn't got to the point of shooting something on her own...she's gone with us in the past but we've never killed anything when she goes with...we're usually having too much fun...lol...anyway, this hunt i knew was an awesome oppurtunity and most likely it was going to be successful...we got out to the WMA around midnight and laughed for hours...finally the gates opened and we rushed to our parking area in hopes of getting a few minutes of sleep....wake up call came way too soon but we loaded up and headed out to my spot....daylight was fast approaching and the birds were talkin' like crazy...it was awesome to have that much excitement for her to experience but they all henned up immediately and i couldn't get them to come to my field...about 0930et we had a deer come by and about 1000et the decoy moved..she was drifting to sleep at this point so i told i was going to get up to fix the decoy and wander over to the palmettos which separates the fields to see if i could see anything......i managed to find a path in the palmettos which allowed me to see the other field...i accidently crunched a stick and a deer across the field popped her head up, i moved a bit closer to get a better look and she ran off...i see another deer about 100yds to the right...i just stood there so i wouldn't spook her and that's when i noticed 2 gobblers directly in front of me about 15yds out looking right at me....i about died...i had enough cover to be able to bring my gun up and i took the larger of the two within moments of realizing that they were there...a lot of y'all don't know me but it's no secret to those of you who do thati get so excited when i shoot a turkey that i start gagging (like huntnma does)...i managed to scream for her and she's already runnin' towards me screaming don't puke...lol....she got soooo excited that we got a bird together even though she didn't actually see the kill shot...she got to see my reaction and the love i have for turkeys/turkey hunting...and the best part is that we have a memory that will be cherished for a lifetime....she said she likes turkey hunting better than deer so i did my part!!

Re: creating memories 2013
huntnma and i both gag (dry heave) after we kill a turkey, actually after we kill anything....we get into soooo much that the adrenaline rush is overpowering....during the hunt we're all badass awesomeness but once the shell/bullet has been fired we shake uncontrollably and then we gag...it's what we do...lol....it's a twin thing.

Congratulations! Thanks for sharing the hunt with us as it was a good read, glad to see you taking the youngster out to enjoy it all with you as well...
When in doubt, show up early. Think less. Feel more. Ask once. Give thanks often. Expect the best. Appreciate everything. Never give up. Make it fun. Lead. Invent. Regroup. Wink. Chill. Smile. And live as if your success was inevitable, and so it shall be.
