A Good Friend left us today

Post by gophert »

Well, after 12 great years, we had to put Aspen down today. It's the only dog my kids have ever known. What a bunch of great memories over the years she has provided. She will surely be missed.

I hate that. But I know Aspen is with good company. R.I.P. Aspen. Keep an eye on that big goofy Doberman named Lugar.

Sorry for your loss. All of us that own or have owned dogs feel your pain. It's still really painful when I remember having to put down my male English Setter almost 3 years ago. Fortunately, I still have his daughter, although I had to retire her from grouse hunting this year. They sure do leave a hole in your heart.

The faithfulness and companionship that a K9 can give a family is a very difficult loss as many of us have experienced. I hope you find another to soon start taking her place as that is what I am sure she would want the family to do in her memory... Prayers sent to you and the family...
When in doubt, show up early. Think less. Feel more. Ask once. Give thanks often. Expect the best. Appreciate everything. Never give up. Make it fun. Lead. Invent. Regroup. Wink. Chill. Smile. And live as if your success was inevitable, and so it shall be.

There are no numbers on any of my clocks below 8. Then all of a sudden, 2 days before turkey season they appear. Then right after the season they disappear.
What's up with that

Every day is a great day with a dog until the last. I am sorry for your loss. The old fellas and girls live forever in our hearts where we bury them. I lost the dog of my life a year ago August, but my Abby, a 2 year old Britt, is running a strong second. Gil

I sat last weekend at the convention and cried over the loss of my dog 5-6 years prior as I shared stories.. It does not get better.. But there will come a day when you realize a void, you will NEVER replace but somewhat fill this void even if now you do not believe it is possible.

This is the 10th post I have had in this thread but deleted, stay strong my friend and find comfort in how much more the dog loved you than you could ever love him.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved Aspen. I know how hard it is on a family.. The memories will last forever, and believe it or not, the day will come when you will smile when you mention her name..I promise you this..

So sorry for your loss, I'm going through the same thing right now, my Golden is going downhill fast. She's lying next to me as I type, It's heartbreaking to us all to lose such a loved family member, probably the most unconditional love a human can feel is their dog. You know the story,,, that Adam named all the animals God put on the earth, the dog is God spelled backwards. When we bring home that puppy we all know that they always end in heartbreak, we just have to enjoy the days in between. They are well worth it.
