A couple of Wisconsin Bears.

Post by Hognutz »

This bear was shot in early September by my buddy’s son. He weighed in at 150#.

This guy was brought into the same butcher a few days later. A total stinkin monster!

That second one is a beast. I have a tag every year as a side bet while elk hunting, but seldom see them.

Not sure but from what I’ve read, it’s 10 or 11. There was a 760 pounder shot in the north central part of the state! These were taken in the far north east part of Wi. Not far from where my Parents were from. Probably 10 miles from our family cottage.
A 700 lb. bear is a big azz bear!!

That bear is a hoss, he probably just skipped hibernation and ate all year long.
Now he would be a prime candidate for that 10 gauge 3 oz. load of TSS ( maybe size TSS #1 buck)

congrats to your friends son, nothing wrong with that bear, it will be better meat.
around 150lbs is the average size bear that is killed in Maine each year

Yes sir. He took the first bear that came in! He wasn’t fussy. Tastes great. Even his kids love it!
There is up to a 10 year wait for a bear tag here. He didn’t want to get shut out..

Nice bears.

I spring hunted manitoba for 13yrs, biggest was 552 chocolate, shot a couple blacks that tipped 400. Sorta spoiled me from hunting here in MI.

Ah! I didn’t look close enough. It looked like a shotgun!
.577 will definitely do! Use enough gun!! :salute:

It was very wobbly and collapsed on its own shortly after!!

He was 65" around the chest. Trying to attach a video of him hanging but can't get it to attach.
