My son in law John Kotzian wrote a book a couple years ago titled " Sky Pilot Of The Great Lakes." It tells of his great grandfathers missionary work on the great lakes. He would travel by sail boat to the lighthouses and minister to the keepers and their families.He was helpful in the formulation of the Coast Guard,previously called the The Lighthouse Keepers Society or association.
Now John and my Daughter Kimberly Kotzian have co authored " Birds And Beacons Of Michigan." Kimberly is an astonishing wildlife photographer. Their book is filled with photos of birds and lighthouses found through out Michigan.
