I just read on another forum that Grumpy frequented that he has passed on.

Dang, I really hate to hear that, and hope it's not true. I really liked Grumpy, he added a little something special to the board. RIP Grumpy, you will be missed.

I agree 100% with this. He will be missed!

if you get ahold of his family (wife) etc, if they had a obit posted anywhere, get a link and we can get it posted on here for every one to read.

I've looked again at obituaries in Havre, Great Falls, and the funeral home in Gildford and can't find anything. Anyone know if it was a couple days ago or a couple weeks?

considering that Sept 25th was his last log in date I would think it had to be around that time period

Looked and found the same # as Hobbes had given me.
Generic message, so I left info and home # and my 800# and can hope it was the right # and will get a reply from his wife, either by phone or snail mail in reply to my original mailed note to Grump.

Please dont let it be true , as said above, we're a mixed bunch. But it's our bunch !

If this is true, it's horrible information! Just like all of you have said, he will be missed tremendously! I would have loved to gone out there and hunted with him....heck, or even to to have met him.

Those of you all that have reached out to his family, like everyone said, please keep us updated and we will pray it's not true.

As with the other folks on this forum, I've enjoyed Grumpy's alternative perspective on most topics. Through my career I have had the pleasure knowing and working with what I would phrase as "characters" along the way. Most were intelligent, asked the hard questions, and were not timid in voicing their opinion, knock you over with funny as hell cracks! Grumpy was one of those, even if I had not had the pleasure of meeting him face to face. He will be missed.

I always looked forward to reading his posts. In a place full of nitwits...and I mean that in a good way...he was one of the wittiest! There were countless times I laughed out loud at what he posted. It won't be the same without him...maybe someone could start a best of Grumpy thread with some of his classic posts?

Hopefully the news of his death is incorrect. While I've privately corresponded with him, I never knew his name. If someone knows his name and where he lived, maybe the local sheriff would know. Gil

RIP Grumpy, how fitting and Grumpy would’ve approved. I like others knew him only through posts but will miss him.
