Youth season

Post by ICDEDTURKES »

Ain't gonna lie hate deer waiting. Youth season whole nother animal. Sal woke me at 4 I look at clock it's 4 freiken am WTH is she waking me and, she's like it's youth season.

I pop up start blaring "old Fred bear" "2nd week of deer camp" "turdy point buck" I get greeted with thought you'd be an an azz. No I love youth season

Morning was slow, hunting ag morning is hard saw four my best friend youngest was awesome never moved except he kept gun on every deer. Great practice

FF evening
Probably one of the coolest nights. Took my best friends youngest again. Saw weather for evening, said it's a killing night, saw a few does. Get a call his oldest shot, my bf is color blind, said will stick tight till your done

Shortly after sal, there's a buck coming out in the field, oh another, and another. All credit to Sally, she coached him through it, see why she batted 100 on osceolas guiding, he wears muffs, so she's telling him which to shoot, he can't hear, she lifts his muff. Calm your breathing. She says are u on him, yes mam when your ready shoot and lowerss his muffs. Boom, deer is dead on its feet, runs 30 yards piles in Field. He wanted to run right out sal told him rack one and keep on scope for 5 minutes just in case. We go up there perfect heart shot, perfect. Split brow. We give fist bumps and hugs I walk away give praise to God and cry. Watching kids kiill means so much, they don't take for granted like alot of us do.

Go meet my best friend and track his oldest son's deer. Only went 100 or so but went in the most awful briar filled cutover you've ever seen
another one of the crew son shot a awesome 7 point this morning
Not being able to have kids I always take friends kids or family. Not sure how may deer or waterfowl youth hunts I've done. It's so cool brings you back seeing there faces

Know a bunch of folks who have hated youth season including my best friend. Told me tonight "used hate it now my kids are there it's coolest thing ever"

Sidenote sal handed my bf her frost mora to gut, yep he cut to the bone on his thumb lol not used to that sharp of knife

That's my best friend and best man.

I know the feeling. During turkey season I sleep with one foot on the floor to help prevent rolling off of the bed.
