My Youngest Niece

was admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon with gall stones &
pancreatitis. She's been in a lot of pain for a few weeks & several
doctors kept misdiagnosing the problem. One said liver, another
said ulcers. They finally figured it out yesterday.

She went to another hospital today for an MRI. They think the
pancreatitis was caused by the gall bladder problem She's getting
the gall bladder removed at 09:00 tomorrow morning.

Please keep her in your thoughts & prayers. Also for her husband
& my sister who will be taking care of a 6 yo, a 4 yo (hell-on-wheels),
& a 7 month old.

Thx.

Thx all. The surgery went well but the Doc saw something he didn't
like & will go back in tomorrow to put in a stent. Not sure what the
issue is.

Thx again.

Thx again. I just got an update: When the Doc tried to put in a drainage tube, something was stopping it
& he wasn't sure if it was a stone, if the pancreas was infla,ed, or what. he said he was real familiar with
this situation & decided to transfer her to Columbus to a Doc who had more experience with this type of
issue. We're not sure when she's going down to Columbus or when/what the next procedure will be.

Continued prayers for a speedy recovery. Good call by the Doctor to transfer her to someone more familiar with that scenario.

THX. I told me Sis that you have to give the Doc credit for knowing when he didn't have the expertise & needed to pass it off.
Luckily he doesn't seem to have an over-inflated ego like some.

X2, here in Massachusetts we suck as a state but have great Pediatric care. Words can't describe a person who will say there's someone who can do more. Continued prayers for the the little girl !

Finally got the correct info on what the secondary problem was. Her bile duct was being blocked
by gall stones that the original Doc couldn't remove. She's being operated on right now. They
expect everything to go well.

A side note, her 3 kids are missing their Mom, especially her 7 month old. My Sis has had her
hands full since Friday.

Sarah was in sugery from about noon until sometime around 3. We assume
that the surgery went well but she hasn't seen the Doc yet for an update.
She is eating a little so that's a good sign.

Thx. Guys.

Sarah is now at home resting. She's in a little pain but is eating & able to get around.
There weren't any stones blocking the bile duct but what they called "sludge." Yesterday,
they got that all out & put in a stent & drainage tube. Everything was done laparoscopically.
The tube was removed today & the stent will be removed in a few months.

My Sis will keep the baby at least overnight as Sarah isn't supposed to do any lifting.

So, at this point in time, everything is going well. Thx again all.
