Had a great 5 day hunt, over 2 1/2 hours s/e of Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. We headed up high in the Sierra Mountains on rocky & steep & winding trails that filled everything with dust from the trails also.
Great people & great hospitality were an understatement!!
We hunted the last season with mixed results on calling toms as hens were bred and wandering throughout the day, waiting for mother nature to say, time to start laying and setting. This is due to the rains that come in August, I believe, and poult survival is better when hatched closer to that time.
Not going into any of "The Hunt & Trip Adventure" as way to many details, but did call a nice tom in and my assigned guy, did take a 4 1/2 minute video before the tom's end
I'll post a couple of group pics. when I get them sent to me via cell.
Camp
9 3/4" Beard, 1/2" Spurs & 19# and 9 oz & bobcat took the 2 tail feathers

Re: What A Trip !!!!!
Sounds like a great trip. Congrats.
I've got a friend going for the "Mexico Slam" next year (Ocellated, Gould's, and Rio) with one outfitter. He asked me to go, but too much money for me. I'd really like to do the Ocellated, but it's the most expensive.

Prices have gone crazy for those trips since I went in 2013 and extra Peacock tags were $650 compared to $1500 nowHobbes_mobile wrote: ↑May 31st, 2019, 10:36 am Sounds like a great trip. Congrats.

Congrats on a great trip. I love stories with happy endings! Glad you had a good time!
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
