Woke up way before the alarm went off this morning. At my tree a full hour before light, thank God it's been to cold for mosquitos. 2 birds sound off literally on the logging road I came down about 400 yards away, never had them roost there before, I had to of walked under them. Well I close a little distance but we're still not leafing out to much so I gave them a little space. Well literally 3 hours later after going back and forth with the hens they had I thought finally the ol Nag hen is pissed and here they come, well at 75 yards she stops and goes on a tirade of cutting and obviously wants to see who is busting her ass. Well after 5 minutes of a no show she completely packed up and dragged her boys with her. I just smiled and said to myself "I hope you learned something ". Well it was 5 minutes later I'm gonna get up and move and I call a nice "I'm lost sequence" and this guy hammered at me "I'm Lonely" from a totally different direction and just double and triple gobbled on a run. He never gobbled once until he was like 40 yds but then ran in on a string. Gobbled probably 30 times in a minute, I wish I had my son with me just to see it. These are big woods where I shot him, 17lbs, 10 1/2" beard and 1" spurs. Gotta love being "Lost and Lonely" !
