Ohio bird
Took this old dude yesterday morning after working him several times in the past week.Watched him strut for an hour the day before.Caught him today in his strut area without hens.10 1/4 beard 1 1/4 spurs over 25 lbs.https://www.flickr.com/photos/150742920 ... res/6X519q

Hard to imagine an acorn diet only in Ohio, but then again it's where you're located at !!

Ha !! Really though this was national forest bird. No cropland .I know acornss aren't the only item on the menu , but that's the fat maker here.And I don't think those birds do a lot traveling , their here year round.

I neglected to mention in the OP , this bird had gray non barred secondary feathers. ( In case you didn't notice I'm really happy with this bird)

Congrats nice bird. I have been chasing one with the bow for a week now no blind and he is giving me fits made 3 different sets on him today comes into gun range but just short of bow hope I get your luck and get to stick him !
