All y'all be safe & careful down there.

Doug, What's the outlook for the Brandon/Plant City area? According to what it looked
like on the news last night, landfall is going to be a lot further north than Tampa.

I just talked to my Mom who's lives about 10 miles East of Plant City. She said it had zero effect there. And by the time it gets to me they're predicting 25-40 mph winds and rain for about 12 hours. I wish everyone could be so lucky, it's a beast.

I'm bout 50 miles east of Panama city and it's about to get rough round here. We're hunkered down gonna ride it out. Last years was pretty bad on us but this one is gonna be bad.

I lived in Brandon when the 4 hurricanes hit in 2004. The damage was really bad.
That is the year I decided to move back to Ohio. Hang in there folks.

Panama City looks like it’s going to be ground zero. If PCBeach gets wiped out where will all the school kids party for spring break?

The winds here have started picking up a little bit in the last 20 minutes. Calling for about 8-10 hours of 30-40mph winds and rain here. I hope that's all we get. I feel for the people in the panhandle.

They actually closed down a WaffleHouse at Panama City Beach

It’s gonna be bad for them to shut one of them down

Yep. That's usually done by the health inspector and not Mother Nature.

I've seen photos texted from Mexico Beach. It wiped out a huge marina building for dry storage of large boats. I see hurricane warnings for Macon, GA! Hope you guys in SW and middle Georgia don't get hit too bad. Gil

Yes our fishing town is gone. We went and got out boat and stuff yesterday. If u search fb for mexico beach hurricane and look at videos it's gone. I'm afraid we're gonna find out a lot of people lost their life that didn't leave. Very sad.

I saw on the news tonight that places look really bad and they said only about 50% of the people left.
Sure glad we don't get that stuff up here, I'll take the 30 below zero for six weeks we get before I would settle for 1 day of that crap.

A friend sister has a condo at Mexico Beach. She let the housekeepers stay as they weren't able to evacuate. They were in an upper floor and survived and sent text photos of the flooding. Unbelievable damage. Michael swinging up through SW Georgia into central Georgia is going to devastate crops, especially pecan groves which is a major crop in that area. Pecans are still green and hope they can stay on the limbs. Hoping for the best.
