Backyard Clay Throwers.
Anybody know anything about backyard trap throwers? I’m thinking about making the move to an electric model. I have a Do All 3/4 cock, sit down model now. It works great for throwing any sized clay target. From the full size to the minis.
It really zips the minis but is rather slow on the full sized targets. I shoot way more minis than full size so I will keep the Do All for them but would like a nice electric thrower for the full sized targets. It would be nice to load it up and push a button instead of manually cocking!
I’m looking at the Mec 100E std wobble or the Atlas AT 250 with the wobble base. Champion offers a couple that are more reasonably priced but I’m a little apprehensive about bang for my buck.
Anybody have thoughts on this. Thanks!!
Mike

May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

I wish I had a electric thrower
I can't remember the model but our local Back 40 Sporting Clays has some that are not the big names and they work excellent

If I get an electric, I'm getting an Atlas. I'll probably do it about the time the boy moves out. I've gonna wear him out first.

I hear that!! In my case, I’m the “kid” cocking the dang machine all afternoon. It’s not the worst but a push of a button would be much easier on me!
Thanks for the input, howl!

I have a rope with various snap links on mine. All of the electrics I've seen had short cords on them.
Re: Backyard Clay Throwers.
Np. Supposedly, according to the internet, you can wire China-best remote controls and wobblers to work with the Atlas units.

You will not be disappointed with the MEC. Others not so much.

I saw Rogers sporting goods had one on sale last week for $179. Had the foot pedal with it. I thought hard about buying but didn't...

From what I have researched so far, the bargain basement level throwers break more birds than they throw. I guess it’s a buyer beware deal.

Re: Backyard Clay Throwers.
all in what you want. I had a 5 stand set up with the champion. They have a remote that works about a 100 yards that will run 2 throwers. Now Walmart has the lower end champion for about 300. They work good. Now you can move around and change how the target looks. You can put a brick or something under one wheel and change the target.

Thanks for the input, Gentlemen!
Keep it coming. I’m probably not going to buy until spring so I have time to figure out exactly what I want and it’ll give me some time to raise the funds! My weasel sack is embarrassingly low, at the moment. Had a crazy month..
Thanks for the support!

You want to be real proficient with a splattergun then just buy your wife a slingshot and a bag of marbles and she can launch the marbles for you, when you can consistently hit triples you will have it mastered Grasshopper, then take the Mrs. out for diner at a fancy place like Burger King or Wendy's,,,,,,, thank me later Grasshopper !

I like to use Champion WheelyBird, which is light and easy to carry. It can last for several days with each charge. There are not too many problems during the 3-4 years of use. If it is a budget limit, then I recommend you look at the Trius 10201. It may be a little laborious, but it is really a good thrower.Hognutz wrote: ↑September 28th, 2018, 5:38 pm Anybody know anything about backyard clay throwers?
