ANOTHER 28 GA. FIRST

Post by Yule »

Me too... Got my first gobbler with a 28 gauge ( Hal's 28 XL load - TSS #9.5 ) last week. Shooting a Stevens 555 with a Trulock .520, what a pleasure to carry this little gun! A very nice Potter Co, PA bird. Watched 15 birds fly down at 5:47 am. Had to set up on this bird three different times. Finally got him just after 10 am. Sure glad I bought that second tag...

Nice bird. That savage 555 is a nice carry gun for sure. Took me 4 days and about 20 miles to put my bird down, but we don't nearly as many turkeys to choose from as PA.
