ImageHad a great hunt in Kansas
Saw a bunch of birds - had several not quite in my gun range- had a miss - then

2 p -Thursday 4/ 19- field Turkey- slipped up a ditch ran along side of field set up 25 yards from edge - called he gobbled- several exchanges I could see him strutting toward me - gobble spit drum step- repeat- about every other step I yelped softly - 30 steps - 20+ lbs - 1 x1 3/8 Spurs - short nubby beard - beard rot

11a Friday 4/20 - gobbling at dawn - 2 gobblers and 2 hens hit the ground 100 yards from me I coaxed mouthy hen my way - all 4 came thru a little draw inside 40 yards but I just wasn’t comfortable with the shot.

Gobbling till 9 a then front came thru wind started with 30 mph gusts and it got real quiet- when wind would lay down I’d call - kept watching down wind shortly after 11 a I saw 2 jakes and a hen coming up draw toward my decoy - shot the bully 15 lb

18 hr drive and rain Saturday made this easy decision
