1st Young of the Year

I saw this year's brood on the way home from lunch today. There are 7 fuzz-balls
which will probably be down to 1 or 2 within a few weeks, something always seems
to get them. They were in the field across the road from the pond where I see them
every year. I assume it is the same pair.

Those are just the right size to singe and roll in a cabbage leaf, we call them babies in a blanket.
