It sure wasn't when we were there in '09. All 3 of us got birds but had to work for them.
I put a lot of miles on my boots.

I think they have had a lot of fires in recent years. I enjoyed the scenery out here. Seen a lot of things I hadn't seen before.

Merriam Hunt was my favorite out of all my out of state hunts so far. It was easy but also enjoyable. We hunted private and no guide. Stayed in a farm house for $200. Buddy of mine had the hook up.

Easiest tom I ever had in my trips there, was my last trip out in high mountain country!! That was due mainly because of all the mass flooding and impassable roads in the crop farming and pasture lower areas ;)
Hunting those creeks on the bottom lands where all the trees were and turkeys roosted, sure had it's challenges most of the times
ever wonder where the white goes when the snow melts??

Forgot to add Crawford was where I hunted. 11 miles back a gravel road.a lot of County roads there are gravel seemed like and they are wide at that. That’s what was neat cause we don’t have that here. People there travel fast on them gravel roads. The morning we arrived on the gravel road to our destination I was going about 10 mile an hr and met a FedEx truck on a hill that was going every bit of 60 mile an hr lol. I swear he got airborne on that hill. This same road had uranium wells on it out in the fields. Got to the farm house and the farmer was washing up dishes we could see him through kitchen window. He came out and greeted us. I noticed on his truck the spare tire underneath was pitted out real bad. It was from gravel hitting it all them years. He drove fast on them roads to. Lol. It sure was a fun 3 days. We scouted from the house. Didn’t have to go very far. I’m bout ready to go back.
