FastFire III battery life

Post by paboxcall »

Quick question about the FFIII. Assuming I left the unit on, from sun up to sun down, and only turned it off at the end of the day, how many days would a battery last? Assuming brand new battery on day one, not left over from last year. Just estimated service life is what I'm curious about. Thanks for the guidance.

Supposedly 5,000 hours is the life. Not sure what the drain (if any) is for sitting during the off season. But they should last for several seasons. A lot of folks change them every year regardless just for piece of mind

I asked the same question when I was considering one a few years back. I haven't had any issues, leave it on from when I get out of the jeep til I get back in. I do start with a new one each year, just to be safe.

Mine finally went out after 3 years. It blinks I guess when its going dead so that is a convienant warning. I was target shooting but in hinting situation the blinking still allows for accurate shot. It was a slow blink.

I had a fastfire2 last 3 full seasons.. then the next spring I noticed it was dimly lit and had to change the battery. 2 years is no problem, after that, change it for peace of mind

I change mine out every year for peace of mind. The 3's do have an auto shutoff after 9 hours
