Hevi Shot 13, #5's

Post by soiltester »

Didn't think this was a bad deal at all at MPW

Hevi shot 13, 3" , 1 3/4 oz #5's for $19.99 per box of 5. Rebate on per box from Hevi shot, $10 up to 2 boxes.
MMMMMM shipping on top, but buy $100 worth and free shipping.
K ... Buy 5 boxes, save close to $10 in shipping and cost $99.95, take rebate off of $20 and cost is $3.20 a shell.
Yup, stick with that deal fer' my Mossburg pump!!
ever wonder where the white goes when the snow melts??

I'm assuming that's the gold colored Hevi 13. I really really liked the old white Hevi 13 but my supply bought in 2007 is just about depleted. I then bought both #5s and #6s and for whatever reason I don't think the 5s pattern as well as the 6s in the old white Hevi. Might just be my 870 with a .650 Indian Creek choke. Somebody please translate MPW?

Interesting on the color of the shell, as these are my 1st 3" I've gotten and they are light ???? reddish/purplish/tannish in color, don't really know what color to call them??
Again they are 1 3/4 oz.
I have one old 3 1/2" 1 7/8 oz that is green and all the 2 1/4 oz 3 1/2's are gold, that I use n my Benelli .

I have always shot 5's for both duck & pheasant & turkeys, switched to 4 steel when steel went mandatory for ducks.

The old white Hevi 13s were "white" with an unusual crimp. I'll take a pic of my few remaining and post it later. They were also 1 3/4oz in 3" with 1080fps. They were very pleasant to shoot in the felt recoil department. Repeating in my gun the 6s patterned much better than the 5s. I still have plenty of the WW HV lead 1300fps #5s. A low cost turkey killer but ouch in the recoil department.
