Yeah I see they recommend that. I've never had that oil. I've always just used Crisco or veggie oil and than cook something greasy.timbrhuntr wrote: ↑June 30th, 2018, 4:14 pm ok since nobody has brought this up i will. the blackstone instructions recommend that you season with flaxseed oil. well i was going to season with regular canola oil but the wife says hey i have flax seed oil in the pantry. so i season with it well its taken a couple weeks but the terrible tasting flaxseed has finally burnt off. first night i used it wife said these steaks are nice and moist and well seasoned but they taste terrible ! dont use that thing again just put them on charcoal . so my recommendation unless you like flaxseed oil dont use it to season the grill ! I was about to give a really bad review and piss tom off but it was just the oil lol
When seasoned I just use Pam

So when we run into chuckeye on the cheap we buy everyone they have, it's our favorite steak. Found four packs at our butcher other day. Gave them a Worcestershire bath for a couple hours hit with blackening seasoning. Than we did onions different than normal foil pack, butter, creole seasoning and put on 17. I think best onions I have had. Than some asparagus in garlic herb. Pulled steaks at 125 rested a few.

Fired up 17 and 22 tonight. One of my favorite quick meals is smoked pork chops and a local market has the best. Won't eat Smithfield etc First time doing pierogi's and a blooming onion on 22.

Re: New Toy
How’d you do the bloomin onion on there...in foil? Why do you prefer the 22 over the 28? I still can’t decide which one I want.

Re: New Toy
Yes in foil for about 10 to cook onion, than opened foil to allow the heat from lid to brown, it coulda used another 10.Waddle Whacker wrote: ↑July 18th, 2018, 9:30 am How’d you do the bloomin onion on there...in foil? Why do you prefer the 22 over the 28? I still can’t decide which one I want.
22 vs 28 I am always on the go camping hunting etc. The 22 is light comes with stand and lid. It will easy cook for 6 to 8 if you use time management, it's also got rear drain. I guess the portability is it for me.
I alot of times don't use stand and put on tailgate. This fall will be nice when I have duck hunters or deer hunters and cook a breakfast or lunch right there.
If I could do over I'd have three 22s. If your not gonna travel with it 28 or 36 and a 17 when you wanna travel.

Made some hassleback Redskins in the oven with herbs and onion. Fired up the 22 made pork steak with BBQ sauce, with seasoned beans in butter and steamed shrimp for cocktail with St Elmo's cocktail sauce. If you love the horseradish bite you'll die for St Elmo's, isn't anything that compares. Horseradish on steroids.
