Old school

Post by 202P&Y »

My wife was doing some cleaning out today and came across an old Primos cassette. Didn't have a year on it but featured Bob Dixon and Will Primos teaching how to use a mouth call and a tube call. Also had audio from a live hunt with Bob and Will both calling. Will ended up killing the bird which had a double beard. Listening to the tape brought back a lot of memories of my younger days listening to tapes with my dad. Sure do miss him

I couldn't play it if I found it, but back in the early 90's I had a cassette with Ray Eye and Walter Parrott explaining and calling their way through a mock hunt off the roost and some additional calling/hunting info. My Dad and I listened to it a lot.

Glad you have fond memories of your dad. My dad is on his way to visit here in MT. I'll be taking him turkey hunting next week. I'm hoping I can get him his first Merriam's.

Wow, I'd love to hear both of those.

I can remember listening to the Ben Rogers Lee's cassette and then my young mind was terrified that I'd make a putt instead of a cluck! Dick Kirby was the other tape I burned up in my tape player.

If I'm not mistaken, we had a Ben Lee tape also. Would love to run across it

I was listening to an old Ben Lee tape just a few weeks ago...still have it in my truck. Calling styles have certainly changed over the years.

I love those old tapes and videos. That was back before people started adding annoying music to the hunts. Grrrr....
