Daughter's First Merriams

Post by HarleyRiders97 »

I traveled with my daughter from Pennsylvania to South Dakota for my daughter's first Merriam's turkey hunt. Day 1 was great with many, many gobblers but no shot opportunities. Later that afternoon we placed a tent blind up and the next morning she had her first Merriam's gobbler. He weighed in at 19 pounds, 3/4 " spurs and a double beard. The shot was 20 yards and he never even flapped! I am very proud of her accomplishment....( well the guide (me) had something to do with it....LOL
