New guy here

Post by noxubeehunter »

Hey everyone. Been lurking for a while and finally decided to join. I live in Mississippi and already can't sleep at night due to our turkey season being just a few weeks away. It's good to know I'll be in the company of people who have the turkey hunting bug as bad or worse than I do haha.

Be more specific, I'm in Madison.

If your name references hunting the refuge while at State, those birds out there took me to school every time I tried.

Welcome and you already know to be selective on what info you take to heart on this site

BTW .. I do believe you've still a few years to match, and catch up, on "that turkey bug" that you have, as a lot of us have had it now, for many, many moons!!

Northeast Jackson. Pretty close to JA. Sorry was trying to reply amongst a busy day at work. I haven't hunted the refuge, but I'm very familiar with it. I'm originally from Tupelo and grew up hunting in Noxubee county south of Macon near Shuqualak. Also used to hunt a place near Brooksville. Both places border the Noxubee River. The club that had the lease in Brooksville also had a tract that was very close to the refuge.

Old Stompin grounds. Not many turkeys when I grew up but tons of squirrels and rabbits there.

There are no numbers on any of my clocks below 8. Then all of a sudden, 2 days before turkey season they appear. Then right after the season they disappear.
What's up with that
