It went to fast
Reckon it's my turn to post up some pics and story's.
Started my season off with a miss..Pretty sure I wasn't down on the gun.Had sat up that morning got in early where I figured would be a good spot.
Kicked a decoy out in the dark, never use one but had the wife that morning with a gun.Anywho after the 3rd gobble I knew he was coming..told her to get ready and not move.Bird comes up as soon as I seen it I told her I'm shooting she said no I want to,so I thought ok I'll back ya up.10 yards in front of the decoy,he won't budge..She wants to shoot I said no,maybe 2 mins go by I told her on 3 to shoot,I raised his head and counted down.
Only thing was I pulled the two,I watched the bird fly off.Threw my gun to the side said a few words, looked over and she's in tears cause I jumped the gun on her..I felt really small that day..that morning we left the woods my head was hung low..one for missing and two for being that selfish.
Hunted WV about a week total and never could make it happen.
Hunted KY after work for 4 days and on the 4th day I had killed my best Eastern ever 25lbs 1 1/4 spurs with a nice paint brush.
Headed west in May had 5 tags to fill and I was ready to fill em.Rolled in as it was breaking day light and had a bird on the ground around 7:30
Bird 2
Bird 3...Well let's just say Stud
"this ones for you shooter"
Bird 4
I had this bird pinned at fly up,he never gobbled but I knew where he was..Got tight the next morning had a creek between us.He hit the ground,I clicked the safety off and thought to myself..walk to your death, and that he did.He was pushing 1 1/4
Bird 5 was a double with my buddy
It was another good trip west I love it out there, after shooting bird 2 I noticed my cocking handle was gone, looked 3-4 times for that dam thing and never could find it so I got a punch and kept handy when needing to load or unload.
Was cleaning the truck out one morning and laid my gun against the truck tire,10 miles down the road my buddy slaps my leg and ask if I had my gun,as soon as he asked me I remembered where I had left it..After realizing he wasn't joking and really didn't have it we rode back and there it laid..My m2 was ran over, never hurt it.
Was my first year shooting Tss and boy is that stuff rough on the birds..Called 3 birds in for others while out there.
Hope to go west again next year.
