Gobbler's Roost

Post by HunterGKS »

Gobblers Roost is a great place to visit & spend quality time with like-minded people. Propane fills the lighting & cooking needs, heating by a wood burning stove, & there is an inside chemical toilet. The cabin does have running water……….. You grab a jug, run down to the spring, fill up the jug, & run back to the cabin. Ron, his family, & friends built the cabin from the ground up.

Would you believe me if I told you that the camp is owned by a died-in-the-feathers turkey hunter?

(Ignore the man in the reflections. It’s hard to take good pics of framed pics with glass.)

This is what it looks like around The Roost. The sap woods are just above the corn field. Last fall, we broke a flock of birds in the corn field. If memory serves, there were 29 birds with a lot of jakes. I have also worked spring gobblers along the edge of the corn & woods but they bet me every time.

No stream, Billie, but there is a spring behind the cabin.
