butski on at 900
on the thugs show.i sure hope they showcase his talents as a caller!!!!
Re: butski on at 900
One of the true pioneers!! Paul is credited with being the designer of the cutter call and is the first caller to mimic the sound on stage. He never won the NWTF Grand Nationals but came in second 6 times. He's like the Elvis of the turkey call industry. Turkey calling changed after he hit the scene. He always preached to add some "realism" to your calling.

Re: butski on at 900
Please pardon my ignorance, as I don't often follow calling contests...but isn't the Wild Turkey Bourbon Grand National Championship the same thing as the NWTF Grand Nationals, or are they different? If so, didn't Butski win it in 1985, 1986, and 1988?...mfd1027 wrote:...He never won the NWTF Grand Nationals but came in second 6 times...

Re: butski on at 900
I stand corrected Stinky. Here's a quote from an article from the North American Hunting Club:
"Over the past three decades, Butski has won several owl hooting, elk calling, and numerous turkey calling championships, including The Masters, the Levi Garrett All American Open (two times), The US Open (six times), the National Wild Turkey Federations Grand National Turkey Calling Championship (three times), six-time runner-up at NWTF Grand Nationals, Champion of Champions."
Whatever. He's a hell of a caller!!!

Indeed! I used to spend hours when I was a teenager watching his tapes with Billy Macoy and trying to mimic everything they did.
Re: butski on at 900
I used to have one of his mouth calls, one of the best sounding calls I ever used. Wish I could find some more

He has paired? or sold? his calls to a large marketing or sales group and they are now being sold under the Maestro name
