Hoobilly Solace 1st buck down
had a excellent hunt yesterday afternoon..
niece wanted to hunt, dropped her off at my sons farm. I had to replace 2 stands and then hunt. First stand I rehung and hit the 2nd spot. got there by 4:30 pm and got in an hung my bow back pack etc. took down the old stand and lowered it, climbed down and got the new one on a rope, got back up and hung it. after a slight adjustment it was 5ish and I set for the long haul. seen several doe running the cut corn field looking for their bedroom that was gone.
Had a 40" 8 point come out into the field.. left 5 minutes later and didn't show up for a half hour.. when he did come, following him was a 80-90" and a 115" then a 125" 8 pointers. they two bigger 8 points tickled their horns together for a second..
then I kept looking around the bend waiting and thinking there had to be a good one coming along. When I seen that stiff legged waltz that a seasoned buck does, I kinda got a flutter and had to get the binocs on him. his chest was huge and his belly was hanging...
He walked up to the other 3 8's that were standing close together and they all parted like water around him.. he was a bully
I could see easily he had that funky rack genetics that we see all to often around the farm. His posture, walk and shear size compared to the 2 1/2 year olds told me he was a shooter. He came to 20 yards and I had some low hanging branches from another tree obscuring a good shot.. then he took 3 more steps and put his nose to the dirt smelling and I pulled the Hoobilly Athens bow back he then started pawing out a scrap I anchored, focused on the heart n lungs and with the breathing, focusing and squeezing the trigger my arrow buried itself and him lunging to run. I could see that my shot was good and true. He ran hard, crashing through the timber like a dozer. the other 4 bucks ran just a little and was watching him. Bully boy ran and I could tell he turned and sounded like he did a u turn and coming back at me. Load crash and then the other bucks ran into the woods. I called my son.. told him I smoked a good'n and to bring flashlights just in case I heard wrong on the crash.
He got there 10 minutes later... we walked into the timber and the two 8 pointers who were in the 115-125 range were right there 30 yards from us.. they bolted before I could get a picture. Found a big blood trail and then my arrow. the wind blew his scent to us.. when we followed the blood I noticed I couldn't smell him anymore. I said he has to be over there.. flashlight in that direction showed his belly.
I told you he circled back. He piled up 30 yards from where he was shot. Thank you Lord for your blessing on me.. Hope y'all enjoy

Thank you all!
Billy..its a rage 2 blade. I swear you can place your hand through that hole.
I have never killed a deer with them broadheads.
They have good and bad reviews
I did buy Swhackers this year but wanted to use these up.

Congrats, Brice. Nicely done.
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
