An Old Tool
As I was unpacking the other day, I ran across an old tool. It's called the "Winchester Shtotshell Game Guide". It's circular and has an outer wheel that turns in relationship to an inner wheel with 3 windows cut out to display the "shell", "shot size" and "shot weight" of each shell.
The directions are, "Spin the wheel to appropriate game, Match shotgun gauge with choke to figure recommended load, Narrow final pellet selection with pattern density & energy guide on opposite sidel"
The "opposite side" has a "Pattern/Pellet Density and Energy Guide" that shows various patterns at various distances.
This tool was made in 1987 and I've probably had it since that time.
Anyone else have one of these?
Thanks,
Clark

Clark, the tool your talking about are really cool. I have a couple similar type tools laying around on my reload bench. Lot of info at your fingertips. But I just knew these guys would jump all over your choice of words.
Put you plans in the nail scarred hands.

I was digging around an old Calvary Fort dump site here and found a tool for measuring black power and it also adjusts to measure shot for a shotgun in ounces. About the size of a shot glass with an arrow pointer on it to keep it accurate. It is basically a double brass sleeve thing that is set to hold an exact amount of powder desired and them a small adjustment and shot can be measure in 1/4 oz. increments, pretty cool little invention and I checked it against my powder scale and it was right on.
