Well, I bit the bullet and joined the 20 club today

Post by Shooter »

Derrick, Tim, Hawg, and John,...I hope you guy's are happy now with all those posted patterns.
I'm gonna beat all of ya'lls butt when I see you. Now I'm broke again!!
Nah, just kidding, I think I actually stole this thing. I ended up haggling and got it for $650 out the door. They had it stuck in the back room with tons of junk guns. I'm not so sure they knew what they had,...lol.
It looks practically new, with all the tubes and papers. Thought it was an M2, but it is an M1.
I don't even know the difference.
Looks like Lily has another birthday present, but I'll take it when she sleeps in,...lol
26", Advantage Timber camo. The factory full measured .590. Should be ok, but may have to get another choke.

Take care guy's, Tommy

Crap!!,... forgot to mention,... I found it in a local Pawnshop. Picked up another bowfishing rig too.

Tommy, you will love that gun. I had the chance to get one just like it except it was black. I let it get away. I ended up buying a Franchii Affinity 20 and I'm hoping to bust one with it this season. I shot it the other day with the IC .555 with Hevi 7s and averaged 170-180 in the 10 @ 40. (5shots) My 1187 with the Hevi 6s only averaged around 190-200 so I think I should be good to go. Gonna shoot it 1 more time in a week or so just to make sure all is straight. Good luck with your new purchase.

Tommy, you stole that gun. Something you won't read in the manual about the rotary bolt: the dreaded "Benelli Click". It's avoidable but has happened to more than one owner, including me, with the SBE which uses the same system. Turkey hunters tend to be quiet chambering rounds. If you slowly slide the bolt into battery, it will not rotate and properly close. It will appear to be closed, and when the trigger is pulled, the hammer will fall, but the shell won't shoot. if you release the bolt and let the stock spring close it with force, it will rotate properly and shoot. Observe the proper position of the handle when the bolt is properly closed. The bolt can be slowly closed and forced into proper rotation, but the easy way to do it is let it slam closed. You've been warned. i wish I had been warned. It caused me to screw up on an easy bird. Good luck. Gil

Thanks guy's, i love it already and so does Lily. Guess we will have to run some Win XRHDs and Fed HWs through it tomorrow, just to see what it will do.
I'm gonna have to hit Tim up for some TSS loads.
Yes, it has been fired, but could not be much.
Thanks for the heads up Gil, but I already have a Stoeger and a Beretta Xtrema.
They have the same bolt design. I could always look at it and tell it was not locked.

BTW Derrick, what size choke are we lookin at with TSS???
I would like to stay with a flush tube, but don't know much about 20s yet.
Never did like somethin sticking out of the barrel, except for maybe a silencer,...lol

I just picked that one because it is cheap! lol Seems like from .555 to .580 ish all work pretty good in standard bore 20's by thumbing through hal's 20 gauge TSS combos.

Dude...that's a sweet rig!!!! I got a few of the 2 3/4 1 5/8 TSS 9's already loaded you can have because the 870 didn't like them too much. I'll trade you for some 2 3/4 12 ga loads.

Sounds like a win, win to me. How many do you have??
I have you two loaded at the moment, but they are 8s. Don't have any 9s.
We will have to hook up, if you want 9s in them.

I'm cool with 8's. I got 3 of the true length 2 3/4 1 5/8 oz loads that el diablo shoots out of his beneli. Something about it has trouble ejecting longer shells. I then have 2 of the original 1 5/8 TSS #9s that are slightly longer you can try.

Just load what ever you think is best. It doesn't matter to me. I'm fine with the 1 3/4 oz.

The longer shells will eject, but they will not cycle from the magazine to the chamber in the M2.
