Older Rem 1100 20 ga LT

Post by Shooter »

Found an old 1100 20ga this eve for $435. Long non-ribbed, bead only barrel. It is the lightweight one.
No choke system, but I can have it cut, reamed, and threaded.
Have not seen it up close yet.
My question is,... did they make this gun with a 3" chamber or just a 2 3/4"

I've got 1 Tommy and it is a 2 3/4 inch model. Mine is vent ribbed with a 28 inch pipe. Mean on the doves around here.

Hey Tommy

Does it have the white diamond on the pistol grip ? These are the older ones. They were made in 2 3/4 & 3" . Alot of the Skeet barrels were 2 3/4 " Good Luck. If its in good shape its well worth 435.00 !

Well hello Josh, long time, no see.
Do you have any idea if this ever came in a 3" version?

Whats going on man. Like Ricky said they were some in 3inch but the ones I have seen were magnum 20's. Mine has the white diamond on the stock and shoots 2 3/4. That price seems about right if the gun is in good shape. Even beat up ones will bring $300.00

I wonder if Hal's 1 5/8oz load will cycle without being too long, in a 2 3/4 gun??
Don't know about the diamond, I'll have to call in the morn, find out more about it.

I am pretty sure it will Shooter, I think he developed the recipe with that gun in mind. I maybe confusing it with the 12 gauge 1100 though.

I think they did, my first hunting gun was a 1100 20 ga. It said magnum on the receiver and was three inch. I want to say that the lightweight was not three only 2 3/4. I could be way wrong...

Tommy,
I have a good friend that has two of them. I will ask him later today. He will know. And I would jump on it at that price, if it's in decent shape. Those are hard to come by.

Remingtons usual have good tolerance for a little extra roll crimp length.

my mom has one! has 2 barrels, the 28" and a smooth slug barrel with rifle sights. I have been wanting to buy another slug barrel like it and have it threaded for remchoke and InjunCreek it for turkey hunting.

hope its as nice as your thinking!
