28 gauge has only 2.75" chambers made today. In the beginning, there were only 2.5" chambers for 28 gauge. Unless you commit to hand loading, you'd be far better off with a 3" 20 gauge as it is more versatile with more load choices available commercially and by hand loading.

Thanks gls. I'm Moving to TSS with the new gun whichever it may be. So hand loaded will be primary. That's why the 28 is a considerable choice as I've seen what you boys been doing here. Just unsure of the capability at a distance

This is my 2 cents only. If I were thinking of using the gun for predators, I would go with the 20. I have killed turkeys beyond 50 w/the 28 gauge but you are limited to 1 5/16 oz TSS. With the 20 you can go to 1 7/8+.

Me? Yes, absolutely. What's to knock a 5 1/4 lb double that can kill beyond 50 yds and up close?
I shoot T9's for range and H9's up close. You can use T for both as well. See my thread in "Handloads " section titled " 28 gauge test drive "

Let's take this to a new thread or PM's so we don't hijack this thread any more.

There are no numbers on any of my clocks below 8. Then all of a sudden, 2 days before turkey season they appear. Then right after the season they disappear.
What's up with that
