thanks for posting this info. Lord willing I will get set up in the coming year to do my own reloading. I want to do the 20 and 28 ga. I have my dads Ruger Red Label 28 and really want to get tubes and TSS loads for it. (bucket list)

Other worldly. Hard to believe what you have done for the 20 ga. Maybe you should send a link to that thread to NWTF. :angel4:

I went out and tried my Mossberg Silver Reserve 20 ga today, shooting 3 different loads, Big 20 XL (1-7/16), XXXXL (1-7/8 oz) and the developing 5XL(2 oz).
These were all using a TruLock 581.

Real impressive Hal. I just haven't found the right combo to match those kind of patterns, even tho I have used two of the same make of guns, and a couple of the same chokes. :dontknow: But I am not going to the 1 7/8 or larger.
2 oz!!! I bet something larger is coming. :bounce: :violent1:

There are no numbers on any of my clocks below 8. Then all of a sudden, 2 days before turkey season they appear. Then right after the season they disappear.
What's up with that

Anybody with a 11-87 Should try a kicks gobblin Thunder choke as well. I shoot the 1 5/8 oz. Load of TSS 9s and the kicks .570 is nasty in my gun. Mine has a 26" barrel, and has shot a high of 362 if I remember correctly in the 10" at 40 yards. It averages around 330 in the 10" and puts around 200 in the 10" to 20" ring. I need to dig the patterns up and post pics here. I have tried a lot of chokes in testing, such as PG, Rhino, RSF, IC, etc. And the kicks beats them all.

I agree sticky. LOTS of useful info here. I am looking to step over to the dark side with all and get rid of the 10ga's and 12ga's.

The Steel and TSS combo, is it 50%-50%?
I am going to get out a limb (thick, oak and am sitting against the trunk) and guess that the larger holes are steel shot. :)
Nice looking duck load.

It's 1/4 oz of the small TSS 9s with 3/4 oz of steel 3s. It's running about 1500 fps, but it's over SAAMI MAP at that speed.

Derrick counted 93 TSS pellets and 101 steel pellets in the circle.
