Re: old eyes
I mount mine back on top of the receiver. Is it tapped?

Drill and tap the back of the receiver

Re: old eyes
Sumtoy makes a rib mount if your rib is thick/strong enough to d/t. The rib on my Beretta 686UL O/U is really thin, so I chose to go with a B-Square cantilever rib mount that attaches to the rib via small plates that fit between rib and barrel and are secured with small machine screws.

I have 2 and waiting on a 3rd to show up. Greg hit a home run with this mount. If your guns is already drilled and tapped then a EGW base is a excellent choice also.
The picture is my Mossberg SA28 with a Burris FF3 and meadow creek.

Re: old eyes
On my O/U where there is no receiver to tap, I use the Sumtoy mount. It is grooved to fit snug over the rib. The rib needs to be tapped to screw it on. On virtually any pump or auto gun, I definitely think tapping the receiver is the way to go. Then get a Burris 336 mount or Sumtoy mount to screw on.

Re: old eyes
I put Fast Fire 3's on all my dedicated turkey guns. At 54 my eyes are not what they were at 25, best decision I have made in a long while. And with shooting tight patterns with hand loaded TSS it was a wise choice.

Amen! At age 58, I wouldn't shoot TSS without one.
Re: old eyes
Thanks all! I should have said a Vent rib mount on a break down O/U. So receiver is out. Just picked up a Tristar O/U in 20ga today. I will check Sumtoy and Meadow creek out!
