Had some problems with the Mec plastic start crimp tools and decided to go ahead buy the Ballistics Super Crown Crimper in 6 & 8 point and I am glad I did.
1.5oz is probably overkill in a 28ga load..

The plastic starter just doesn’t work well with new hulls. Those look great

I loaded some 20ga 3” yesterday using plastic that’s as good as any I’ve done Set it up for a feller who bought it from me and wanted it for the 3” instead of the 2 3/4”Turkinator wrote: ↑June 26th, 2019, 11:02 pm The plastic starter just doesn’t work well with new hulls. Those look great

Definitely use metal washers to set the crimp depth. That spring they send with it didn’t work so well for meokiefowler wrote: ↑June 27th, 2019, 11:32 amThat's about how my feds come out on my steel loads, cheds are a totally different story though l.
