Stevens 301T .410 replacement stock options

Post by jhogue » June 10th, 2019, 12:19 pm

Are there any options to change out the stock on a Stevens 301 .410? My 4 year old's arms are way too short to shoot with the full size stock. I assume cutting down may be a possibility, but would prefer an option that would allow me to retain the original stock for when the short one is no longer necessary. Not sure what single shot that Cuz Strickland's grandson used in his "Down with the Devil" kill this season, but the gun had some sort of tactical stock. If may be a NEF gun, but all these single shots look similar. Any direction is greatly appreciated as Google didn't return any easy answers. Thanks.

Cut it down. Add a flip flop pad. Increase length later with a slip on pad.

Is this link the flip flop pad concept you mentioned? May try that route. Seems really straight forward with a wood stock. May be a few more steps with the hollow synthetic stock. Thanks. Continuing to look for other options as well. I will have two of these guns by the end of the week. May leave one original and shorten both stock and barrel on other.

You could buy a stock from savage, cut that one down and keep the original.

Yep. Old trick to reduce rifle weight and easier than cutting down and sanding the original pad.
