Anyone try the federal 3” tss in the M2?

kind of wondered in a 3” roll crimp like the federal would cycle up from the chamber on benelli M2 and the affinity.

Federal 3” heavyweight #7 would cycle in my M2 but it was a fold crimp.

Affinity’s definitely need a shorter shell

Yep, those and the M2s are finicky. Even with a 3” shell in a 3” gun if the unfired length is too long they won’t cycle from mag to chamber. Roll crimped shells are usually a touch longer than fold crimps. You will probably have to use another gun or another shell. For hand loads there are plenty of options. For commercial loads, I would check the overall length of other brands (e.g., Apex) or look at 2 3/4” options.

Anybody know if other commercial TSS loads are fold crimped?

Put one of those shells in the barrel and follow it up with some 2 3/4 fed heavyweight 7 in the magazine as they will feed through about any gun.. 90 percent of the time only one shot will be fired anyway.

Federal 3 in seem to work fine in 2 of our M2's and an old beretta 390 . shot a 2 3/4 dove load and let one cycle from magazine about 5 times in each gun .one has had feeding problems with 1 5/8 oz 3 inch load . never cycled them even one time . both M2 are solid 270 and 310 guns with Federal #9 . Old 390 will do 290's regular .

You need to talk to who ever you got the shot from. They can help you alter the load.

The rest of us do not know the details. We can just guess.
